Day 01 - Air Port to Hotel at Katunayaka area

Activity Highlights

Arrival at Bandaranaike International airport in Sri Lanka.
Enjoy a warm welcome by our lion mark tour representative and driver at the airport.
Giving advices and instructions to stay and visit safely and how to behave during the tour.

Negombo

One of Sri Lanka’s first beach resorts, Negombo wraps around a lagoon fished for its prawns, with a long stretch of silver sand running north along the coast. It’s defined by its position, 10 km from Sri Lanka’s international airport. It’s a modest town of Buddhist temples, Portuguese churches and Dutch canals, which provides a gentle welcome for arriving visitors. The cluster of beach resorts are a worthy rest stop before flying home.

Negombo Fish Market

Negombo made its start as a fishing community, and fishermen continue to hawk their wares on the city’s sandy shores. Starting from as early as 4 am in the early morning, fishing boats begin to make their way to the beach laden with that morning’s catch. Shrimps, crabs and lobsters are hunted at the famous Negombo Lagoon, while fresh fish is hauled from the waves of the Indian Ocean.

Galle Fort

Galle Fort is in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 432 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. The galle fort has been declared as World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.

Turtle Hatchery

Turtle Hatchery in Sri Lanka is a sanctuary that works on increasing the rate of survival of baby turtles on the island. The centre functions mainly as a hatchery and makes huge efforts to increase the rate of hatching, and survival of baby turtles in their very initial stages. However the Care centre also works on sick or injured adults; treating them and releasing them back into the ocean. They also run volunteer programs and awareness programs for local and international visitors.

Madu River

The Madu River is very rich in biodiversity. It passes through the wet zone of Sri Lanka opening up into the large Madu Lagoon on its way to the Indian Ocean. You can visit and get experience with madu ganga boat tour, Mangrove swamps of madu ganga, Fish massage spas, Cinnamon island, Madu Ganga lake, lot of small island (Ma doowa, Satha paha doowa).

Whale Watching

Whale watching trip in Mirissa takes usually 3-5 hours, the average duration is 4h. Ocean is calm and whales migrate from the southern hemisphare to the northen hemisphere. you are going to see wild life so spotting of whales. Blue whales are most often seen. You can see also sperm whales, fin whales, Bryde's whales, short finned whales, dolphins and rarely killer whales and whale shark. Sometimes we pass turtles and flying fish.

Thissa Lake

Tissa lake (Wewa) is a reservoir in Tissamaharama, thought to have been constructed in the 3rd Century BC, either by Mahanaga of Ruhuna or his successor Yatala Tissa of Ruhuna, in order to irrigate paddy lands and supply water to the flourishing city of Tissamaharama.

Yala National Park

Yala combines a strict nature reserve with a national park. Divided into 5 blocks, the park has a protected area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks and lagoons. Two blocks are currently opened to the public. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks, and crocodiles.

Day 07 - Colombo To Airport

It is the financial centre of the island and a tourist destination. Colombo is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life, colonial buildings and monuments. Famous landmarks in Colombo include Galle face green, Colombo port, Colombo port city, Central bank, Viharamahadevi Park, Beira Lake, Colombo racecourse, University of Colombo, Independent square, BMICH, Nelum pokuna theatre, One galle face, Gangaramaya Temple, Dutch museum, Colombo lotus tower, the National museum and Planetarium (some places are outside view).
